Downloading and configuring the XPORT setting on the ClearView db Analyzer

If the PLC is not communicating with the ClearView db analyzer, there will no on screen errors or alarms generated by the analyzer. Communication errors typically occur because the communication settings used by the ClearView db is different than what the PLC is expecting to communicate on. Use the following instructions to change the communication port and network settings used by the ClearView db.

The ClearView db analyzer uses an embedded Ethernet module called XPORT. The PC software Device Installer allows XPORT configuration.

  1. The Lantronix Device Installer is a Windows-based GUI application that provides an easy way to install and configure specific Lantronix device server products. www.lantronix.com
  2. Once the XPORT software is installed, the IP address can be changed.
  3. When you run Device installer it may search when it first comes up or you can select the search button. The application will find any Lantronix devices on the network and display them in the right pane (as shown above).
  4. Select the device that you want to change the IP address of in the right pane.
  5. Click the Assign IP button. (as shown above)
  6. Select the “Assign a specific IP address” radio button (as shown below)
  7. Select Next
  8. Enter your desired IP address.
  9. Select Assign. The assignment will take approximately 15 seconds.
  10. When done, select Finish.
  11. The new IP will show up in the right pane of the search window for the unit selected. (as shown above)
